FAQ
Is the Business Location Explorer© a web tool?
Yes, our Business Location Explorer© is a web-based tool, a so-called software-as-a-service (SaaS). You can use it easily and conveniently in your browser.

What are the features?
With the Business Location Explorer© you can analyze all German cities and municipalities based on various location factors and thus identify suitable locations for your project. The application of the right location factors depends heavily on the specific project. Thanks to our unique algorithm, we can provide the general contact email addresses of all German cities and municipalities (around 11,000), so that you can contact the relevant locations directly via our web tool (e.g. when searching for commercial space). You can download all the results of your analysis as an Excel file. As part of location assessments, you can view the location profiles of all German cities and municipalities and save them as a PDF.

What's the data basis of the tool?
Our web tool is based on a heavy database. The data processed in our location analysis tool comes from the Federal Statistical Office, the state statistical offices, and the Federal Employment Agency. Some data is derived from our own calculations (e.g., distance data). We also purchase data from third-party providers. Our top priority is high data quality to deliver flawless results to our users. Data timeliness is also of paramount importance. Some data is only published annually by the publishing agencies, making monthly updates impossible. Here you will find all the information about our data sources and calculations.

Is the tool suitable for macro and micro analyses?
The Business Location Explorer© is primarily designed for macro analyses. Do you want to find suitable locations or commercial spaces within a specific region in Germany? Do you want to compare multiple locations or evaluate individual locations? Then our tool is a perfect choice. You can even contact the respective municipalities directly from the tool. Unfortunately, a micro-analysis is not possible with our tool. If, for example, you are looking for the ideal location within a city as part of your branch planning, our tool cannot provide you with data for individual districts or streets. The Business Location Explorer© starts a step before: Which city is actually interesting for a new branch? Our tool can help you answer this question.

How can I use the Business Location Explorer©?
As a web-based tool, you can easily access the location analysis features in your browser. No software installation is required. Use requires the registration of a paid user account. You can choose between different packages depending on your needs and requirements. For one-time location analyses, for example, you can use a one-week access plan. If you want to conduct location analyses regularly, a one-year access plan is more suitable.
